Kyle L. writes: I started my nursing journey back in 2013 when I first became an EMT. I worked for 2 years as a basic EMT on a 911 service in my town, and later on became an Advanced EMT. I worked for another 4 years on the same fire/EMS department. I then started teaching prehospital medicine at LRCC and still currently teach the next generation of EMT's. I started working for Huggins Hospital ER where I discovered my appreciation for nurses and my aspiration to become one myself. My mother was so proud of me and she would tell everyone she knew that I was going to become a nurse. She passed away from an aggressive form of bladder cancer before I could become a nurse, but I made a promise to her that I would become the best nurse I could be for her, so I can help those who need me. Since then, I have tried to treat every single one of my patients as if they were my own mother.
Today Kyle currently works as a RN at an ER in NH! Congratulations Kyle we knew you could do it!

Maya M. writes: From personal convictions to personal beliefs, I have always felt my job is to serve others to the greatest ability, despite any difficulty in doing so. Nursing is the career that falls into this category. I am extremely drawn to holistic nursing. I want to take care of the entire being because I know that when somebody isnt' their best emotionally or mentally, then their physical body will be affected, and vice versa. I know my life will be different when I become a nurse by the long hours I will put in to work. But that doesn't bother me; it excites me. To do something so purposeful, leaving a positive print with every patient I care for . . . . There is no other type of career I would ever want.
